Simmers’ appreciation of the clean, crisp method of Stradivari’s work shows through beautifully; the choice of materials is faultless as is the application of the light amber coloured varnish with a light gold ground giving a lovely ‘back-lit’ effect. The varnish sporting a complex faux antique pattern.

John Simmers is a European trained violin maker, graduating with distinction from the renowned Newark School of Violin Making in the UK in 1996. John is a regular participant at professional development courses in Europe and the USA and a medal winner at the prestigious VSA competition in the USA.He is a member of the Australian Violin Makers Association (AVMA) and the Entente Internationale des Maitres Luthiers et Archetiers d’art (EILA).
